Scale
  • 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp chili garlic sauce
  • 2 bell peppers (red and green), sliced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. 1. Marinate the beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce and cornstarch. Let marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. 2. Prepare the sauce: Mix ketchup, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, chili garlic sauce, and cornstarch-water mixture in another bowl until well combined.
  3. 3. Stir-fry the vegetables: Heat oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Sauté garlic and onion until fragrant; add bell peppers and cook until crisp-tender.
  4. 4. Cook the beef: Move vegetables aside in the wok; add marinated beef and stir-fry until browned (about 3-5 minutes).
  5. 5. Combine: Pour the sauce into the wok and stir until everything is evenly coated; simmer for an additional minute before serving.
