  • 1/3 cup (65 gr) sugar
  • 2 tablespoons (20 gr) cornstarch
  • 10 fl oz (300 ml) hot milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup (100 gr) sugar
  • 4 oz (115 gr) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • pinch salt
  • 1 1/2 cups (190 gr) all-purpose flour
  • Fresh berries (for the topping)

Instructions

  1. Warm milk in a pan until hot. In a separate bowl, whisk egg yolks, sugar, and cornstarch until fluffy. Gradually add hot milk while whisking continuously. Return to medium heat and stir until thickened; cool before refrigerating.
  2. Beat an egg with sugar until light; mix in softened butter, vanilla extract, salt, and flour until dough forms. Refrigerate dough for 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out dough, cut into circles, press into tartlet mold, and bake for 14-15 minutes until golden. Cool completely.
  4. Assemble by piping custard into each shell and topping generously with fresh berries just before serving.
