Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound uncooked shrimp (peeled, deveined)
  • 12 ounces bowtie pasta
  • 2 bell peppers (diced)
  • 1 medium yellow onion (diced)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cayenne
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (divided)

Instructions

  1. Boil salted water in a large pot. Cook bowtie pasta until al dente; reserve 1/2 cup pasta water before draining.
  2. In a bowl, mix the spices for the Cajun seasoning. Coat shrimp with olive oil and half the spice blend.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and sauté shrimp until just cooked; set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add bell peppers and onions with remaining spices; cook until softened. Stir in garlic and heavy cream.
  5. Return shrimp to the skillet along with cooked pasta; stir to combine. Adjust sauce consistency with reserved pasta water as needed.
