  • 1 pound (2 cups / 454g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cups (600g) granulated sugar
  • 6 large eggs, room temperature
  • 4 cups (500g) all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 1 cup (180ml) whole milk
  • 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp almond extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch tube or bundt pan.
  2. Cream the softened butter until light and fluffy. Gradually add sugar and continue beating until pale.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Mix in sifted flour and whole milk alternately, starting and ending with flour. Mix until just combined.
  5. Stir in vanilla and optional almond extract.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes to 1 hour and 45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
