  • 1½ cups granulated sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp almond extract
  • Pink food coloring, a few drops
  • Blue food coloring, a few drops
  • Cotton candy flavoring (optional), adjust to taste
  • Sprinkles, for decoration (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Add in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Divide the dough in half; color one half pink and the other half blue. Roll small balls by combining both colors.
  6. Place on the prepared baking sheet; optionally sprinkle decorations on top.
  7. Bake for 8–10 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft. Let cool before serving.
