Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup salted butter
  • 2 cups + 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 3 and 1/4 cups pecan halves
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan and line with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine melted butter with flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt until crumbly. Press into the prepared pan and prick with a fork. Bake for 18-20 minutes until golden.
  3. For the filling, whisk eggs in one bowl. In a saucepan, heat butter, maple syrup, brown sugar, and heavy cream until combined; boil gently for about 3 minutes. Temper the eggs by adding some hot mixture slowly while whisking.
  4. Mix eggs back into the saucepan with pecans, vanilla extract, salt, and cinnamon. Pour over the baked crust.
  5. Bake again for 28 to 34 minutes until set but slightly jiggly in the center.
  6. Allow cooling completely before slicing.
