  • 21 ounces cherry pie filling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the flour and salt. Gradually incorporate this mixture into the creamed mixture until just combined.
  4. Spread about half of the batter into the bottom of your prepared pan. Gently spread the cherry pie filling over this layer, then drop small clumps of the remaining batter on top.
  5. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool completely on a wire rack before cutting into squares.
