Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until it turns golden brown and gives off a nutty aroma. Allow it to cool slightly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the browned butter with white granulated sugar and brown sugar. Mix in vanilla extract and room temperature eggs until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cornstarch.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture while mixing on low speed or by hand until combined.
  6. Fold in semi-sweet chocolate chips and mini chocolate chips evenly into the dough.
  7. Line baking sheets with parchment paper and drop dough onto sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden but centers appear slightly underbaked. Cool on sheets before transferring to wire racks.
